The myth is that Adam and Eve sinned and fell from Grace.  Myth or not, we have been falling ever since, reaching out and grabbing as much money as we can as we zip by. As Ferengi says, “Greed is  eternal”.  Every day the headlines are full of cases wherein men and women work out all kinds of schemes to bring more gold into their lives. Low level and high level we scheme for money. Contributions to political campaigns are often particularly egregious.  In his autobiography, G.K. Chesterton, talks of British politicians and their ways of getting contributions into their campaign funds. “Parliament “(Congress), says  Chesterton, “is a secret government by the rich.” King Midas is alive and well. His DNA is in all of us.
