Cryogenics

March 2, 2021

There are some who want to live long lives.  Their lives are pleasant, their families are comforting, and the pains of the world do not reach into their hearts. That is enough for a few or for many. But there are also a few who want to live a very long time.

In those cases arrangements may be made so that immediately after legal death, the body or just the head is frozen, (-196 C, -320 F) then stored until science determines it is the right time, a ‘Singularity’, to come back into life.  The process is called Cryogenics and as of 2014, 250 have taken advantage of the process. Many (96) freeze just the head because it is thought that in some future age, the brain may be manipulated to grow a new body. The old body may not be worth keeping in that future better world anyway.

One famous example of Cryogenics is Ted Williams, the ballplayer. His situation gives new meaning to the idea of a home run! Williams lies next to his son in the Alcor facility in Scottsdale, AZ.

There are storage facilities also in Michigan, Moscow, and maybe other sites. Various financial arrangements are available.
